Apple introduced new Mac devices at the Scary Fast event. It was a bit disappointing that the devices’ accessories included Lightning ports instead of USB-C. It was a situation beyond the expectations of the users.
Apple was recently expected to switch to USB-C input on Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse devices with M3 processors. As a result, the company switched to USB Type-C even on iPhones due to the decisions taken by the European Union.
However, at the Scary Fast event held in the morning, we saw that this expectation did not come true. It looks like Mac peripherals will continue to have Lightning ports, and that will continue to be a commonality with other devices.
Apple hasn’t fully switched to USB-C

It was a remarkable development that Apple did not change the inputs on its peripherals. because both market demands and regulations in various markets, especially the EU, were directing the company to switch to USB-C. The entire iPhone 15 series, all next-generation iPads, Apple TV’s Siri remote, second-generation AirPods Pro, and new Apple Pencil products all have USB-C ports. The latest products to use Lightning are AirPods, AirPods Max, and iPhone SE.
The new iMac boxes also include cables suitable for these devices. Additionally, the intermediate cable that allows converting USB-C cables to Lightning cables will also be included in the box. In this way, there will be no problems switching between the old port and the new port.
Apple is in no rush to switch to USB-C.

Last year, the European Union decided that all smartphone manufacturers should use a common charging unit. USB-C ports were shown as the technology to be used in this decision. It was decided that the decision would come into force from 2024. The reason for the decision was the need for fewer electrical cables. It was shown as an important step towards protecting the environment by using fewer power cables. But Apple seems not very happy with this situation. He’s still stuck in the middle, continuing to writhe, there must be a stomach ache. It’s probably because he couldn’t get a bigger share of the pie.
